Save the Date! Join us in celebrating and supporting our community at the 2023 Dane County and Madison Juneteenth Event organized by Kujichagulia Center for Self Determination.

Where: Penn Park, 2101 Fisher Street, Madison, WI
Juneteenth is an annual event commemorating the end of slavery in the United States after the Civil War, and it has been celebrated by African Americans since the late 1800s. The holiday is also called “Juneteenth Independence Day,” “Freedom Day” or “Emancipation Day.” Juneteenth became an official federal holiday in 2021 when President Biden signed the legislation. Juneteenth falls on June 19.
